Pricing tokens

Integral uses Kaiko and CoinGecko to price blockchain transactions at the moment of the transaction. We attempt to get the closest price possible to the transaction timestamp (spot price).

Pricing Sources

The top 78 tokens by market cap are priced using Kaiko, and the rest are priced using CoinGecko. Integral prioritizes Kaiko as it provides more granularity (price up to the minute vs. hour), and allows us to configure primary markets for each token if needed.

There are cases where the top tokens may end up priced using CoinGecko (for ex., when Kaiko doesn't have price at some specific time), however that should be rare.

The price, pricing source, and price timestamp are visible on every transaction by opening the details panel in bookkeeping, or in the CSV export of transactions.

Kaiko's Pricing Methodology

The price from Kaiko is an aggregated VWAP (Volume Weighted Average Price) price across the top exchange platforms.
